LM-TU342N2 wire marker tube φ4.2 mm, 80 m roll – MAX, UL224

LM-TU342N2 is a white PVC marker tube with a 4.2 mm inner diameter on a 80 m roll, used to print wire numbers and text in control panels. The tube is printed and half-cut continuously on MAX LETATWIN printers (LM-550A3, LM-550E, LM-3000PRO); the markers stay joined in sequence and the wireman snaps each one off and slides it onto the wire before crimping.

The φ4.2 mm size suits flexible copper wire of about 2.5 – 4.0 mm² (reference). It grips the insulation so it does not slide off when wires are pulled; for thick-insulation wire (heat-resistant, flame-retardant) test a few pieces first and go up one size if tight.

N-series PVC tube recognised to UL224 (file E171616): 105 °C, 600 V, wall thickness 0.431 mm or more, VW-1 flame retardant. MAX states that N tubes can be used as insulation tubing – suitable for export panels and UL projects.

Printers and settings for φ4.2 mm tube

• Compatible printers: LM-550A3, LM-550E, LM-3000PRO.
• Select the TUBE material and size on the printer and set the cut-depth lever to TUBE for a half-cut that snaps by hand.
• Feed the tube under the holder with 1 – 2 cm protruding; it must unwind freely from the roll, untwisted and free of oil.
• Below about 15 °C PVC stiffens and print may fade: use low-temperature (slow) mode or the tube heater and raise print density.

FAQ

• Which wire does LM-TU342N2 fit? About 2.5 – 4.0 mm² for standard flexible copper wire; test samples for thick insulation.
• How many markers per roll? At 20 mm pitch, a 80 m roll gives about 4,000 markers (less loading waste).
• Which ribbon? Black LM-IR50B on LM-550 printers; LM-3000PRO uses LM-IR3015B.
• How does it differ from the TOVINA tube of the same size? MAX tube is made in Japan and UL224 recognised; TOVINA tube costs less and suits panels that do not require UL.
