Maintenance & repair of MAX label printers and wire markers

TOVINA is MAX's authorised distributor in Vietnam and handles scheduled maintenance, genuine part replacement and repair of Bepop CPM and LETATWIN LM printers. Below are the tasks users can do themselves following MAX's manuals.

      Services at TOVINA

Technical contact: hotline/Zalo 0917 399 279 · (028) 3848 8333 · sales@tovina.vn. When calling, have the printer serial (on the bottom or back) and a photo of the error screen ready for faster support.

      • Inspection, cleaning, measuring and adjusting print density and cut position.
      • Replacement of print heads, platen rollers, cutters and sensors with genuine MAX parts.
      • Installing drivers, Bepop PC EX and LETATWIN PC EDITOR; setting the printer's IP address on the LAN.
      • Out-of-warranty repairs, with a quote before work starts.
      • Drop-off at our warehouse, 3E/2 Pho Quang, Tan Son Hoa Ward, Ho Chi Minh City, or a technician visits by appointment.

      Scheduled maintenance

      • MAX recommends maintenance at least 1 time a month, more often for heavy use or dusty workshops.
      • Each time: wipe the platen roller, clean the print head with an alcohol swab, wipe the material sensors and remove tube or label scraps stuck at the exit.
      • Wipe the power plug regularly; dust built up over time can cause a short circuit or fire.
      • Do not touch the print head with bare hands; always switch off before cleaning and wait until the alcohol is completely dry before printing.

LM-550A3: cleaning and changing the cutter

      1. Wiping the platen / clearing jammed tube (FEED function): open the cover; hold SHIFT and press the power button for about 3 seconds, releasing the power button before the LETATWIN logo appears; the FEED screen is shown.
      2. Slide the (silver) changeover lever fully right, hold a damp or alcohol cloth against the platen and use the arrow keys to turn it while wiping. Jammed tube is cleared the same way – do not pull the tube by hand.
      3. Changing the half cutter: open the cover, pull out the old cutter, align the guide rib of the new cutter with the holder groove and push it fully in. Use only the yellow LM-HC340 cutter; do not touch the blade.
      • Replace the half cutter after about 5.000 cuts; the manual full cutter lasts about 30.000 cuts and must be replaced by a dealer.
      • Do not use tube with hard dirt or oil on it, as it can damage the print head.

Bepop CPM: changing the cutter, printing but not cutting

      1. Changing the cutter: switch off, open the cover and push the cutting head to the middle by hand.
      2. Use the supplied wrench (large end) anticlockwise to remove the blade holder, then unscrew the holder cap.
      3. Remove the protective cap from the new blade, set it gently in the centre of the holder (do not press hard) and tighten the cap so the blade tip protrudes the right amount.
      4. Refit the holder into the cutting head by hand. Replacement blade: CM-B20E.
      • Prints but does not cut: check in order the printer (blade, cut-pressure knob), the software (has a cut line been added?) and the printer driver (cut mode) – see the 3 MAX videos below.
      • Ribbon/label status window does not appear when printing: the "MAX CPM-100HG5 Option UI Manager" service is not running, usually because antivirus blocked it during installation; reinstall the driver with administrator rights.
      • Printer not found on the LAN: set an IP address for the printer (connect via USB and use the IP address setting tool); the address must match the port set when installing the driver.
      • A red LED that is on or flashing means an error; see the message in the driver's status window.
