For control panel builders, wire numbering is daily, repetitive work: a single control cabinet can need hundreds or thousands of printed markers. Handheld printers are great on site, but in volume production at the workshop, print speed and how markers are cut and kept in order decide productivity. LM-3000PRO ML is MAX's new answer to that problem.
A desktop printer, about twice as fast as earlier models
MAX pioneered tube marking printers, launching its first model in 1994. More than 30 years on, MAX presents LM-3000PRO as the long-awaited high-end model. It belongs to the familiar LETATWIN range but is a desktop unit printing at 80 mm/s – about twice as fast as earlier models according to MAX – with a 300 dpi thermal transfer head that keeps 1.3 mm characters legible. It has a 4.3-inch color touchscreen that shows remaining print time and a QR code that opens tutorial videos.
One printer for almost every marker in a panel
- Wire marking tubes: PVC tube φ1.5 – 10 mm and heat shrink tube φ2.0 – 19 mm (white ink on black heat shrink is supported).
- Square GRIPSLEEVE tube: grips the wire at three points so it does not rotate or slip; the flat face keeps text easier to read than round tube. Where shops used to fit a clear sleeve and then insert an ID plate, GRIPSLEEVE does it in one step: print, snap off and fit straight onto the wire.
- Device labels: 5 / 9 / 12 mm tape in white and yellow, and 4.1 mm ID plates.
- Terminal blocks: 5.5 – 12 mm marker strips and block markers for WAGO terminal blocks.
Because tubes, labels and terminal markers all come from one printer, the shop no longer has to switch between several printers for different materials.
Features for fast, error-free wiring
- Adjustable half cut: printed pieces stay joined in one strip in the right order, so installers just snap them off while wiring.
- Source – destination printing: print both connection ends on one marker for quick checks, with optional reversed text on the other face.
- Data from Excel: prepare wire lists in Excel, paste them into LETATWIN PC EDITOR PRO and send over Wi-Fi, LAN, USB cable or USB flash drive.
- Easy upkeep: refillable ink ribbons (black 200 m, white 180 m); the half-cut blade, platen roller and print head are user-replaceable.
LM-3000PRO or LM-550A3?
LM-550A3 is a compact handheld unit with a keyboard, suited to site installation and maintenance. LM-3000PRO is a high-speed desktop printer that also handles GRIPSLEEVE, large heat shrink tube, marker strips and WAGO block markers – the better fit for volume panel production. Both use the same PC EDITOR PRO software, so many shops run LM-3000PRO in the factory and LM-550A3 on site. See the full range on the MAX wire marker printers page.
Consumables for LM-3000PRO
The printer uses large-roll MAX PVC tube such as LM-TU432L2 and LM-TU442L, bundled tube such as LM-TU332N2, marker strips LM-KM485 and LM-KM410, plus LM-IR3015B/W ribbons and LM-SL34/LM-SL37 GRIPSLEEVE tubes. The full list is on the LM-3000PRO product page.
